Top Ten Books On My Fall To-Be-Read list
Meme hosted by: The Broke and Bookish
1.The Fall
This book! It is actually coming up in a WoW of mine, but I am SO excited for this book! Espeically since I read Nevermore. This book is a re-telling of Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher and OMG! How exciting is that?! And perfect for October.
2.Asylum
This book has been on my shelf for awhile. It seems really spooky, so it fits in with the fall/halloween kind of thing.
3.Etiquette & Espionage
This is a book I will be reviewing. It is based in a finishing school, but with a twist. It seemed like a good Fall read.
4.Gone Girl
I have been wanting to read this book for awhile, but everytime I see the trailer, it makes that urge even stronger. I plan to read this soon, because I will read it before I see the movie.
5.Anna Dressed in Blood
This is another horror type book. Another book that it seems like EVERYONE else has read, but me. I am actually currently reading this.
6.Burn for Burn
This book sounds interesting. I have mixed feeling for Jenny Han, because The Summer I Turned Pretty really annoyed me, but To All The Boys I Loved Before was amazing. So I will see if this one can take me off the fence about her.
7.Poe
I haven't heard anything about this book, but it sounds awesome.
8.The Turning
This has a feel a lot like Ten by Gretchen McNeil.
9.The Madness Underneath
This is the second book in the Shades of London series. I liked the first one and I do look forward to getting started on this one.
OOoh nice! Loved Don't Look Back! I still need to read The Madness Underneath as well, but plan on reading it more when I have the final book in hands! I hear there's a whopper of a cliffhanger!

Anna Dressed in Blood is a fan-bloody-tastic book. And creepy too! There's been a lot of fuss about Gone Girl, mainly because of the movie. I've seen the trailer and it looks pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteGreat pick!
My Top10
Kat @ Reading Owls
Looks like a great list for the fall and halloween! I have a low tolerance for horror, creepy I can do but straight-up horror I'll most likely have nightmares haha. But sometimes I wonder, "how scary can YA horror be" you know? The Fall sounds awesome but I think I'll wait for your review first before checking it out. Hope you enjoy them all, Brittney :)
ReplyDeletePS. Love the new blog layout!
I really should wait for the reviews, too, because usually when I hype myself up about a book and just jump in I am disappointed. And I don't like horror any other time of the year. And there are some YA that can be pretty terrifyings. The Devouring by Simon Holt gave me nightmares after the prolouge. By the ending I am wondering if I will ever sleep. But that is the only book I have come across that was truly scary in YA.
DeleteThank you for the compliment about the layout!
I loved Don't Look Back. It was my first JLA which I think was a good introduction because I love mysteries. I also plan on reading Etiquette & Espionage as well as Gone Girl. Look like a great list. I hope you enjoy them.

So many people are saying great things about Don't Look Back. I don't know why it has taken me so long to pick it up! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteGreat selection! A couple of these I haven't heard of before. Although it's not on my TTT post I got Etiquette & Espionage and I'm planning on reading it soon!

I love the Shades of London series, The Madness Underneath is so great. The Fall looks super creepy, I want to check that out as well.
ReplyDeleteNice list - also, beautiful blog! It's really organized and gorgeous, well done! I suck at HTML XDDD.
ReplyDeleteGone Girl is an ... interesting read. I'll definitely be looking forward to what you think of that one!
Jules @ The Book of Jules
I've heard a lot about Anna Dressed in Blood, but I'm weary of horror books. I tend to like books with romance, and I'm afraid I couldn't keep interest if there isn't one.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Top Ten Tuesday!
I have mixed feelings about The fall, I liked Anna dressed in blood and I have Don't look back on my list for this Fall too! Happy reading :)
